At the conclusion of this activity, attendees should be able to:
- Evaluate strategies for the management of total joint replacement in younger patients and to minimize and recognize surgical complications
- Review and critique current treatment options (arthroscopic and open) for sports-related and traumatic shoulder and elbow injuries
- Discuss with recognized experts their preferred surgical approaches for joint replacement, knee ligamentous reconstruction, shoulder stabilization and when they prefer the use of arthroscopic applications
- Define surgical and nonoperative approaches for common knee injuries
- Review critically current approaches to patellofemoral, meniscal and articular cartilage surgery
- Evaluate processes to minimize postoperative thromboembolic disease and infection control strategies
- Review latest applications and treatment options for fractures around the shoulder, elbow, knee and hip in active patients
- Assess current minimally invasive approaches and new applications for total knee and hip arthroplasty
- Discuss patient care and treatments to improve efficiency and costs of running a private practice
